Materials & construction

Good timber, clearly stated.

The timber, lettering method and fixings are selected for the exposure, information required and maintenance arrangements. Replaceable arms or applied information can be considered where the site may need future changes.

Maintenance & repair

Made for maintenance and repair.

Posts, ground fixings, arm connections, lettering and finish should be inspected periodically. A damaged or outdated arm can often be replaced without renewing the whole sign, provided the remaining structure is sound.
