Materials & construction

Good timber, clearly stated.

Oak is well suited to substantial outdoor seating when section sizes, joints, drainage and fixings are considered together. British-grown oak is preferred where appropriate and practical; the proposed timber and finish are identified before order.

Maintenance & repair

Made for maintenance and repair.

Outdoor oak will weather and should be inspected at sensible intervals. Fixings, joints, feet and water traps deserve particular attention. The construction is intended to allow suitable parts to be repaired or replaced rather than treating the whole bench as disposable.
