Materials & construction
Oak is well suited to substantial commemorative seating when joints, drainage, section sizes and fixings are considered together. The proposed timber, plaque or lettering method and anchoring arrangement are stated clearly in the quotation.
Maintenance & repair
Outdoor oak will weather naturally. Periodic inspection should cover joints, fixings, feet, anchoring and the commemorative detail. Suitable components can be repaired or renewed without replacing the complete bench where the remaining structure is sound.
